Mustafa Karadag

Mustafa Karadag was born on 17.02.1993 in Istanbul, Turkey. He works as a Dance Artist, Choreographer, Director, Dance Instructor based in Cologne, Germany.

He studied at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University - Istanbul State Conservatory's Stage Dance Department, Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna Stage Dance for Exchange Program, and at The Cologne University of Music and Dance.

He participated as a performer in choreographies by Esther Balfe, Julio César Iglesias Ungo, Clement Layes, Alexandra Pirici, Tugce Tuna, Aydin Teker, Manuel Pelmus, Davide Sportelli, Anton Lachky, Schorsch Kamerun, Semih Fırıncıoğlu, Oktay Keresteci and Korhan Basaran. He has also produced his own movement and video projects.

In recent years, he has been mainly creating and touring internationally with his works. He produced Sinek-The Fly(2013), Space(2016), Die Fliege(2017), Through a Glass Darkly(2022), Now I am Wondering if I Close my Eyes and Fall Back in Time(2022), Rhythm of Belongingness(2022)

His creations was accepted and shown in several festivals, including; Dance Film Festival London (UK), Akbank International Short Film Festival Istanbul (TR), eMotion Film Festival (ROU), Exground Film Festival Wiesbaden (DE), International Film Festival Chennai (IN), Cinedans Film Festival Amsterdam (NL), EnCore: Atlanta (USA), Shock Academia Festival Vilnius (LTU), Istanbul Dance Film Festival (TR), Ankara Dance Film Festival (TR), La Nuit du Court Métrage, Avon (Fr), International Short Film Festival Detmold (De), Kurzsuechtig Kurzfilmfestivals Leipzig (De), Pool International Dance Film Festival Berlin (De), Cultur'halle Film Festival Genève (Ch)…

His solo work 'Space' has shown in the Museum of Modern Art Yerevan, International Performing Arts Festival, Armenia, Young Choreographers Festival in Istanbul, and Middle East Technical University Dance Festival Ankara.

In 2017 he had the honor to be awarded a special prize from 'Fidelio Choreography Competition, Vienna' for his solo performance, 'Die Fliege'

At the moment he is working as a freelance dance artist, choreographer, director, and dance instructor in Cologne, Germany, and continues to explore the body and its movements.
